Spar-Spangled Banter: Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards – Legacy Support

Today I come with an article that is… more… involved than the usual matters. Rather than just yell at a wall about daft mechanics, I decided to make a more thorough critique of what I consider a touchy subject – making new support cards for themes that already existed. This practice has been dubbed “legacy support” by someone out there, which is fine by me because it is a nice name that is easy enough to process. Unlike others.

Why would this be a touchy subject? Well, I am pretty sure we all like our existing Decks to be supported. And it’s in the nature of most card games for the players to eventually get a bone thrown their way. Thing is… I am not a big fan of how Konami handles it.
