I AM CELLLLLLLLLLLL

Terrorking

And this is why nobody takes Second Form Cell seriously. This humiliation right here. It was 24 minutes of Cell metaphorically sucking Vegeta’s dick to not get beaten to a pulp.

Vaioumon

It was funny seeing someone who was causing so much trouble suddenly getting the shit kicked out of him. Now if only Vegeta didn’t like drawing out his fight so much.

Carly Nagisa

The world could have been saved right here if Vegeta wasn’t an egotistic prick.

Tesla Coil

As much of an idiot as Vegeta is, Trunks is no better. He’s just sitting there, with enough power to blow up the island and everything on it.

Rob Lucci

It’s kind of satisfying to watch Cell get destroyed, but he’s kind of a joke.

P R E S S  I T

Terrorking

If Krillin pushes that button he’s no better than Bill Cosby.

Vaioumon

Damnable Krillin, getting a boner at the worst possible time. If it was 17, he’d have no hesitation.

Carly Nagisa

While its cute for Krillin to question the morality of rather or not he has the right to take a life of an innocent person, we all know its mainly the struggle if he wants to bone her or not.

Tesla Coil

Pretty sure 100% of the problem is Krillin’s crush. I don’t think even DBZ characters are dumb enough to go “We can’t sacrifice the life of an innocent person” in the Cell saga and then “Hey Buu, go kill every human ever for a few minutes” in the Buu saga. They know they got Dragonballs.

Rob Lucci

Krillin suffering from twilight syndrome where he cares way too much about somebody he doesn’t know.

Meet bald.

Vaioumon

Well, let’s start this show. This thing has been hyped to death by the whole internet, let’s see if it can hold up for a few episodes.

Carly Nagisa

The internet can ruin anything if given the chance. These were the same people who hyped AoT and AgK and don’t get me started on SAO.

Tesla Coil

There are some anime characters who I can immediately picture a good dub voice for, but Saitama wasn’t one of them. I had no idea what I wanted him to sound like. What we got was pretty good – I was happy with Saitama’s voice all through the episode.

Rob Lucci

They explain why he’s bald, but his dead-faced look…

Surprisingly violent death

Terrorking

I feel like I bonded with Crablante. I was sad when he died.

Vaioumon

So his backstory is he’s a bum who just opted to be a hero one day. Then he trained and became super strong and now he’s bored because his fights are over in one punch. Good enough for a comic strip, which is how this series started.

Carly Nagisa

Crab people, enough said.

Tesla Coil

Gegegu!

Rob Lucci

Attack on Decency

Terrorking

Amazing dubbing that they had Eren from AoT’s va voice this guy that drinks a potion to become a giant naked man.

Carly Nagisa

Now you have the satisfying conclusion to AoT. Good work team.

Rob Lucci

This was so intentional. I love it.

Only in Saitama’s dreams

Terrorking

Eh, it was okay I guess.

Vaioumon

And the last part is a big fight scene between Saitama and a bunch of giant mole-men that all ends up being a dream.

None of the 4 parts of this episode had anything to do with each other, but when your gimmick is having “One Punch Man”, I suppose it would be hard to dedicate time to a single fight. The animation /does/ get to be nice for a couple moments at a time, but that’s all you really get with this episode, along with maybe one or two chuckles.

But hey, not everything can hook you with the first episode.

Carly Nagisa

Still better than Dimension W.

Tesla Coil

The first episode was better than I remembered, but One Punch Man just isn’t complete without Genos. …God I hope his voice is good too.

Rob Lucci

I really enjoyed this in terms of its comedy. Hoping to see more good come from it.

Gundam: IBO

Congrats on learning to read

Terrorking

Gundam is a pretty great franchise because it uses space battles with giant robots to get viewers interested enough in their stories that they’ll actually sit and observe the themes being presented to them. Iron-Blooded Orphans is failing at this. Instead of speaking through the combat like so many good Gundam shows before it, it instead takes episodes off doing nothing and throws thoughty-farty philosophy and backstory at us, expecting us to be interested. Where’s the fucking Gundam fights?

Vaioumon

I had the stream minimized for this show, and none of what I heard sounded like Gundams fighting.

Carly Nagisa

And to think this is getting a season 2 in the next anime season. Oh…goodie.

Tesla Coil

This episode had Zelda teach Mikazuki how to write his name. THAT WAS THE PLOT.

Rob Lucci

This is like episode 3 material at episode 6. Pls.

Pillow fight!

Terrorking

So half the episode is them running out 50 hours. I couldn’t help but notice that the characters literally wasting time was more entertaining than One Piece is when characters are running around and fighting.

Vaioumon

So with their 5v5 over, they have to wait 50 hours in a room where they just kinda hang out. Not as bad as a couple episodes back where they weren’t sure if the blue guy was alive or dead and they spent the whole episode just sitting there, but still, nothing happened. There were a few cuts to see the people who already passed the trial, but we’re not really invested in any of them yet except the clown guy, so it doesn’t really matter.

Carly Nagisa

I get the feeling that people are going to be shipping two 12 year old kids after seeing this scene and that’s just wrong.

Tesla Coil

I wasn’t as big on this episode as everyone else seemed to be. It’s true that an episode of characters wasting 50 hours could have been a lot more boring, but after the second pillow fight and the third “oh noes smelly feet” scene, it felt pretty lame.

Ingenuity leads to success

Terrorking

Choose who advances. 3 of you, leaving two behind to guarantee you pass, or risk going in with all 5 and be sure to fail.

Vaioumon

These are the three one would actually expect to have gone through, but since you can’t have a character for that many episodes in the beginning and just cut them off…

Carly Nagisa

These three right here are the ones I’d expect to see make it to the final stretch if it was any other shonen anime. Gon is the main, Kurapika is the know-it-all pretty boy and Kulila is the apathetic loner. Seem like the perfect choice when you look to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Tesla Coil

Leoreo’s so different from these three, and fatguy’s obviously not going to stay around long anyway, that it’s obvious this would be the trio if they were to pick the ‘only 3 can go’ route. But no shonen hero ever would abandon a friend, so.

Fat Kabuto & LeOreo

Terrorking

Really liked this episode. It was an inventive solution to the problem at hand.

Vaioumon

…and there we are. And it’s okay, this was a cool way out of a seemingly inevitable situation.

Carly Nagisa

“You can only choose the short and simple path or the long and difficult one…unless you cheat then its okay.” I really like how this ending turned out. I just wished they left the fat bastard behind.

Tesla Coil

Pretty clever. I wish they’d leave fatman behind already, though. Shut up, Gon, he’s not your friend.

Rob Lucci

I’m wondering if we’ll see some reverse twist with Fat Kabuto.

Shippuden

Kakashi’s dad

Terrorking

Hey, wouldn’t it be funny if this Obito kid turned out to be Tobi?

Carly Nagisa

What in the hell are you smokin?

Rob Lucci

Absurd. Tobi is obviously Tobirama.

One Piece

Luffy ready for EVO Sunday

Rob  Lucci

I care more about EVO than One piece

Terrorking

A lot happened, but I felt like my time was being wasted.

Vaioumon

So the minor crew members make it back to the Sunny to wake the big three up, and we learn that Brook’s old crew happens to be the crew that left Laboon behind waaaaaaaaaay back at the beginning of the Grand Line, and their promise to meet again is what’s kept him going through 50 lonely years.

And that’s the whole episode, which is sadly a lot for the pace this show moves at. For anybody that actually is interested in One Piece, it cannot be stressed enough that the manga is the better medium by far.

Carly Nagisa

Toei is a shit…SHIT!!
